OZMA Awards

Amaskan's Blood by Raven OakAmaskan’s Blood was short-listed FINALIST for the Chanticleer OZMA Fantasy Awards, with the winner being announced this weekend on Saturday, April 1st.

Chanticleer Short-ListedWhile Amaskan’s Blood was a FINALIST in the 2016 EPIC Awards, this is my first short-listed award with an actual awards’ ceremony, so I’m pretty excited.

I’ll be driving up to Bellingham, WA on Saturday for the gala while thinking of my late grandmother. Her birthday was April 1st. I think she would be proud to know my stories are out there in the world and trying to win awards.

Ozma Award Finalist 2016My friend, author Jesikah Sundin, is up for two awards this weekend! While I know it is an honor to be a finalist, I hope we both walk away winning!

Either way, I get to spend a nice evening with my husband, my friends, and my colleagues. 🙂

Wish us luck!

About the author

Raven Oak

Bestselling science fiction & fantasy author Raven Oak is best known for Amaskan’s Blood, Class-M Exile, and the collection Joy to the Worlds: Mysterious Speculative Fiction for the Holidays.

She spent most of her K-12 education doodling stories and 500 page monstrosities that are forever locked away in a filing cabinet. When she’s not writing, she’s getting her game on, enjoying cartography, or staring at the ocean.

She lives in Seattle, WA with her husband, and their three kitties who enjoy lounging across the keyboard when writing deadlines approach.
