Some Data – RAVEN OAK

Some Data

I’m a huge fan of data, so I have some data for you. 😉

I seem to have made it through some long COVID brick wall or over the hump or whatever you want to call it. My creativity has fired into overdrive in a way I haven’t had since I got COVID the first time around back in 2020.

Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about, back in the before times, I could write 3000 words in a day EASILY. Many days, it was 4-5,000 words. When I really pushed, my most in a day was a little over 12,000 words. When I’m on, I’m on.

But once I got COVID and all the brain fog and disability hit me hard, I was lucky to write 1000 words in a single day. If I could get through the brain fog, my body hurt too much to sit in a chair and write. Even with breaks every hour and lots of meds, my body got too fatigued. ME/CFS sucks, folks. If my body was hanging in there, my brain wasn’t.

I’m still having cognitive issues with word choice and severe dyslexia (I used to have mild dyslexia…not so mild now), but I’m finding ways to work within that.

To prove to myself that I can do this, here are my daily word counts of late:

Tuesday, May 20, 20253,010 words
Wednesday, May 21, 20253,614 words
Thursday, May 22, 20252,494 words
Friday, May 23, 20251,689 words
Saturday, May 24, 20253,099 words
Sunday, May 25, 2025847 words
Monday, May 26, 20253,854 words
Tuesday, May 27, 20253,129 words

In 8 days, that’s a total of 21,736 words or the equivalent of 72.5 pages.

Normally, I don’t write on the weekends as that’s family time but this past weekend, I really wanted to write, especially on Saturday. That word count! Each of these days (except the weekend), I aimed for 2,500 words. Most days I blew past that.

I remember the first time I had Long COVID–something similar happened. I reached a point where something clicked and parts of my life were back. That was undone when I got COVID and thus, long COVID again, but here’s hoping this improvement continues. It would be nice for some of it to spread to my wife.

Maybe it’s the Xolair shots kicking in. One can hope! <3 I have so many stories to tell you all.
