FF: 5 Techs!

For this week’s Flashforward Friday: 5 Techs! Or in more detail, lots of upcoming technology that is so going to change the future.

I’ve got a serious deadline here, so this will be a little on the short side. I’m excited about some of the new tech I see coming out and how this will change society.

ONE

This machine (OLO) uses your phone to 3D print.

TWO

These newly designed crutches will make crutches more comfortable for the user. https://www.facebook.com/techinsider/videos/499299460268415/

THREE

These new household gadgets are pretty cool–everything from a thumbprint-enabled lock to an alarm clock you have to stand on to turn it off.

FOUR

I’m most excited I think about this spinal cord implant because it could be revolutionary in helping people who can’t walk or those who suffer from Fibromyalgia, M.S., and countless other disabilities. https://www.facebook.com/ScienceNaturePage/videos/810586075740319/

FIVE

Scientists were able to grow a full-sized, functioning heart from stem cells, which is huge. It beat, like a real heart, and means major progress in terms of heart transplants. http://www.popsci.com/scientists-grow-transplantable-hearts-with-stem-cells

I had a story idea that is now invalid as science fiction because technology advancements has rendered it obsolete. Tech seems to be changing faster than writers can write. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Here’s to the future.
