I haven’t posted in a bit because of all the moving chaos, but Molli and I have moved into our temporary housing while we sell our house and buy a much smaller, more accommodating one. While the house is staged and sold, we ended up renting a small cabin on a lake.
It’s glorious out here. We have our own private pier and the lake is full of wildlife. This is the view we wake up to every morning and the view I have when at my desk. We’re enjoying lake life.

Molli and I have been walking out to our pier and hanging out there for a bit each afternoon to take in the ducks and geese and other birds. Occasionally a fish jumps up from the lake. It’s a reminder that life continues, even after loss (of which there’s been a lot). The sun has been nice, though the PNW will pay for this early sun come summer. We’ll probably have a nasty fire season. :/
This morning, we woke up to the Canadian Geese having a water fight. They were splashing each other and making a glorious racket. 😉 I hope we can use the month or two between the chaos of selling and buying a home to grieve and heal.
And write.
